Family Law
Resolving family-related issues through litigation can be expensive, time-consuming, and stressful for everyone involved. We work with family members to determine how they can find workable solutions outside of court whenever possible, but we are also prepared to advocate for our clients during litigation when necessary. Child Custody & Visitation
When married or unmarried parents separate, they will need to determine how they will share custody of their children. In Texas, the legal custody of children is known as "conservatorship," and parents will usually be granted "joint managing conservatorship" of any children they share, which will give them the right to make decisions about how children will be raised. Parents will also need to determine how to address physical custody of their children, including creating a visitation schedule known as a "possession order." In serious cases, CPS may take action to remove children from their parents' home. When dealing with these types of issues, parents will need to get immediate legal help. By taking action as quickly as possible, parents can determine the best ways to address concerns about their children's safety while avoiding consequences that could affect their family relationships or their ability to care for their children.
